The night light side of a wax warmer

Half of what our plug-in warmers do has nothing to do with wax. The painted shade with its cutouts turns a bare outlet into a small, patterned lamp, and many of ours run in the light-only position most nights.

The hallway

The classic spot. A warmer at outlet height marks the path without lighting the whole corridor, and the cutout pattern gives a plain wall something to do at midnight.

The bedroom

A soft glow low on the wall is enough to find the door by, and the scent side can stay off entirely. The switch on the plug-in models picks light, wax or both, so the bedroom setting is yours to choose.

The bathroom

Nobody wants the ceiling light at 3 a.m. An outlet-mounted glow solves it, and a fresh scent in a small tiled room goes further than anywhere else in the house.

The late kitchen

A counter-corner outlet with a warmer means the last one up does not navigate by the fridge light. This is also where seasonal shades get seen the most.

A note on placement

Pick an outlet where the warmer will not be knocked by doors or bags, and where the glow lands on a wall you actually look at. The product pages list what each shade covers, including whether the second outlet stays usable.
