Cleaning a wax warmer in two minutes
A warmer asks for less upkeep than almost anything else with a plug, but the two minutes it does ask for are worth doing right.
The cold pop
Switch the warmer off and let the wax set completely. Press gently on one edge of the hardened disc; it releases from the dish in one piece and goes in the bin. This is the cleanest method and the kindest to the ceramic.
The warm wipe
If the wax is already liquid, switch off, wait a minute so it cools but stays soft, and wipe the dish out with a paper towel. Never pour melted wax down a sink; it sets in the pipe, not in the bin.
The shade and the paint
The painted shade needs a dry or barely damp cloth, nothing more. Skip abrasive sponges and strong cleaners; hand-applied glaze keeps its color for years when it is dusted rather than scrubbed.
What not to do
- No water in the wax dish while it is warm
- No freezing the whole warmer to loosen wax; cold dish out of a warm room can stress ceramic
- No metal tools against the dish; a fingernail or a wooden stick does the job
Bulb changes
Unplug first, let the bulb cool, and swap it like any small lamp bulb. The wattage for each model is on its product page, and most of our boxes include a spare.
